Jon Hoehne is a freelance professional trumpeter, who works as a symphony and recording session musician throughout Southern California. His Symphony work includes the San Diego Symphony, Westlake Village Symphony, Brentwood-Westwood Symphony, San Bernardino Symphony, the Los Angeles Dream Orchestra, and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with such world-renowned artists as Sir Michael Tilson Thomas, Burt Bacharach, Lang Lang, Malcolm McDowell, Vanessa Williams, En Vogue, Michael Bolton, Jason Alexander, Malcolm McDowell, Nathan Pacheco, and Marvin Hamlisch, and KC and the Sunshine Band. Mr. Hoehne has performed in venues around the world, including the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and Walt Disney Concert Hall.
In addition to performing, Mr. Hoehne teaches the next generation of young trumpeters, preparing them for success in the next stages of their development at such institutions as the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Manhattan School of Music. Mr Hoehne serves as the main trumpet instructor for the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra. When he is not performing or teaching, Mr. Hoehne enjoys running, swimming, photography, and spending time with his Golden Retriever, Teddy.
