Dan Damore, trombone 2014-2016
bio written 2017
Dan was a member of the CVYO Trombone section from Fall 2014 to Spring 2016. He found it was a joy to play so many wonderful pieces by great composers and playing with so many dedicated and exceptional musicians under Mr. Benson's direction. In addition to playing with CVYO, Dan played in the Moorpark High Wind Ensemble, Jazz Bands, Marching Band and the Gold Coast Wind Ensemble. He was a participant in the 2016 All-State Symphonic Band and the 2015 and 2016 Ventura County Honor Bands. In 2016, he received the John Phillip Sousa Band Award.
Dan was planning to study mechanical engineering in college, but he just didn't have the passion for Math and Science that he has for Music. Currently, a freshman studying Music Education at California State University Fullerton, he plays trombone in the CSUF Symphonic Winds, Varsity Band and in a fifteen member Trombone Choir. He looks forward to teaching music and forming future musicians. Dan wants to thank his many music instructors for their help and guidance to lead him on this path.
