Wally Stoltz-bass 1966-1971

bio written 2016

Wally Stoltz along with Betty Bowen (CVYO’s Founder) and others, can be credited for planting the seeds for the CVYO of today. Wally played string bass in CVYO from 1966-1971 and continued on as a coach for another 8 years. Wally graduated from UCLA in 1978 and has continued to teach privately since then.

As a young bassist, Wally performed with “The Serenaders” in the Eddie Allen Swing Orchestra with appearances on the TV shows “Truth or Consequences”, “The Red Skelton Hour”, and others. 1982 was an important year for Wally as he married his High School sweetheart Margie, and opened Wally World Music, an iconic Thousand Oaks music store. If it’s musical, Wally has it! Most musicians in the area know Wally and regard him as a kind, gentle soul. Wally and Margie have 2 children and 3 lovely grandchildren.
